Former Indian cricketer and legendary captain, Kapil Dev’s biopic centered around India’s victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup will soon go on sets with none other than Ranveer Singh to play the title role while Kabir Khan of Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be the director and Vishnu Induri, founder of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) and South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is the producer.

Off late, biopic films are paying decent revenues for film makers and all the top heroes are eyeing to work on such scripts. In fact, Kapil Dev biopic has been in pipeline from last three years or so and finally Vishnu Induri confirmed the production.

‘Ranveer will be a perfect choice for Kapil Dev’s role. His energy and passion fits apt to our script. India’s journey in 1983 world cup is one of the exciting stories filled with raw energy and passion of a young Indian team,’ said makers as an announcement is expected to come out within this week.
